This introductory chapter will review the topics covered in 2nd grade. We will begin by reviewing number patterns and skip counting. We will then identify odd and even numbers (and how to define them). Next, we will review addition and subtraction, as well as place value for numbers within 1,000. We will proceed by learning the "Rounding Rap" and practice rounding to the tens place and hundreds place. At the same time, we will be using compatible numbers to estimate sums and differences. Finally, we will solve addition and subtraction story problems. When solving, we will begin to circle the numbers and underline the question, in order to better break apart the problem into pieces that we know how to properly use, to solve these given story problems.
