Chapter 10 gives an overview of Graphing & Data. The students will begin the chapter by reading different sorts of graphs, such a picture graphs and tally charts. **Students will need to remember that every 5th tally mark goes across the set. In the first section of graphing, students will take several surveys to collect data/information on a given topic. They will collect this data in tally charts and frequency tables. The students will then ask and answer questions, from the data collected. Next, students will practice making and interpreting picture graphs, and using this information to ask and answer questions. Picture graphs (or Pictographs) use pictures or symbols to show information. **A key is usually shown below these graphs, to explain how much a picture/symbol represents on the graph. Then, the students will practice making and interpreting bar graphs. Bar graphs use bars to show data collected. Student will practice taking a set of information and displaying it correctly, by way of these various methods of graphing. Story problems and tables will hold data, which will then be transferred into a graph.
